In 2001, PGE had 4,900 customers enrolled in our renewable power program. Today, more than 80,000 of you are part of our burgeoning green community.
This growth has made PGE's renewable power program #1 in the nation for the number of renewable power customers. The rankings are compiled by the U.S. Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
More than 89,000 cars off the road
In 2011 alone, by choosing renewable power, PGE customers avoided releasing more than 1 billion pounds of CO
2 into the air, which has the same environmental impact as taking more than 89,000 cars off the road for one year.
Since 2002, PGE customers have kept almost 4 billion pounds of CO
2 from entering the atmosphere, the equivalent of taking more than 358,000 cars off the road for one year.
