Renewable Program Growth
In 2001, PGE had 4,900 customers enrolled in our renewable power program. Today, more than 85,000 of you are part of our burgeoning green community.
This growth has made PGE's renewable power program No. 1 in the nation for the number of renewable power customers and most renewable energy sold. The rankings are compiled by the U.S. Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
More than 113,000 cars off the road
In 2012 alone, by choosing renewable power, PGE customers avoided releasing more than 1 billion pounds of CO
2 into the air, which has the same environmental impact as taking more than 113,000 cars off the road for one year.
Since 2002, PGE customers have kept more than 5 billion pounds of CO
2 from entering the atmosphere, the equivalent of taking more than 505,000 cars off the road for one year.
