PGE Third-Party Verification
As a renewable energy customer, you can rest assured that you are getting what you are paying for thanks to the Oregon Public Utility Commission (OPUC), which monitors all energy transactions in the state.
Senate Bill 1149 includes renewables
Senate Bill 1149, which took effect in 2001, requires PGE to offer renewable power options. Part of this law requires PGE to keep records and submit them to the OPUC every year. These records include specifying where our energy came from (a specific wind farm or biomass facility).
The OPUC Portfolio Options Committee (POC) monitors these renewable transactions to ensure adherence to the law.
The POC: A diverse group
Members of the POC include:

The Nature Conservancy
For habitat restoration, PGE has formed an alliance with The Nature Conservancy, one of the world's leaders in preserving the natural environment to manage funds generated by Habitat Support customers. The Nature Conservancy invests the funds in protecting Oregon's rivers and streams that benefit salmon and other fish.
